The retina of the human eye is about the size of a postage stamp while the macula is only about the size of a pencil tip. The macula employs hundreds of millions of photoreceptor cells – cone cells produce color vision and rod cells produce black and white for night vision.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are the two key carotenoid pigments stored in the macula and may promote the integrity and density of the macular pigment through their antioxidant properties. Increased intake of these carotenoids maintain healthy photoreceptor function in the macula as well as supporting the health of the retina. Extra Zeaxanthin

We went the extra mile to ensure our super vision formula is extra rich in zeaxanthin (concentrated from pure marigold – not synthetic sources).  Zeaxanthin is considered by some experts to be the strongest, most important antioxidant carotenoid found in the retina.  Zeaxanthin cannot be made by the body, thus it must be supplemented as part of the diet.  Our master formula contains 2,000 mcg per capsule for maximum support for macular health.*
